Albany-Dougherty Land Bank Board – Two (2) appointments. The appointments will fill a two-year term ending July 31, 2021. The purpose of this board is to strategically acquire and dispose of property for the betterment of neighborhoods and the community as a whole. Applicants must have documented experience in subject matters relating to the operation of a Land Bank, this includes but is not limited to: real estate, banking, property development, finance and/or accounting. Department of Family & Children Services Board - Two (2) appointments. These appointments will fill a five-year term ending June 30, 2024. The purpose of this Board is to provide financial aid and social services to eligible needy citizens of the county. Also, to provide funds for emergency assistance, child welfare, pauper burials and food stamp distribution. The Board meets on an as-needed basis. Appointment must be a resident of Dougherty County.
Economic Development Commission - One (1) appointment. This appointment will fill a two-year term ending June 30, 2021. The purpose of this Board is to continue to lead in efforts to promote Albany and Dougherty County for economic development purposes and in recruiting new business and industry to the Albany and Dougherty County area. The Board meets monthly.
Electrical Board – Three (3) appointments. The appointments will fill a one-year term ending December 31, 2019. The purpose of this Board is to consider all matters related to electrical installations, including alterations, repairs, and equipment. This Board meets on an as needed basis. One (1) appointment must be a Master Electrician. Two (2) joint appointments must be an Electrical Supplier. Appointment must be a resident of Dougherty County.
Flood Plain Management Review Board - One (1) appointment. This appointment will fill a three-year term ending December 31, 2021. The purpose of this Board is to consider variances on structures that are below the required base flood elevation level. This Board meets on an as-needed basis. Appointment must be an Engineer or Land Surveyor.
